Usage Guidelines
To ensure optimal performance and prevent breakage in high-speed handpieces:
- Use with water cooling (min. 50 mL/min) to reduce heat and friction, preventing thermal damage and bur breakage.
- Operate at 100,000–300,000 RPM for cutting enamel or dentin in procedures like cavity preparation or tooth sectioning.
- Apply light, intermittent pressure to avoid stress on the brittle tungsten carbide shank.
- Use in FG-compatible high-speed handpieces
- Do not use without water cooling, as this causes overheating, tissue damage, and bur breakage.
- Do not use on hard cortical bone (e.g., mandible in large dogs); use specialized surgical burs instead.
- Avoid exceeding 300,000 RPM, as this causes vibration and shank failure.
- Do not use worn or damaged burs; replace if cutting efficiency decreases. Best practice is to replace after each use.
