The side cut design allows for easy three dimensional contouring along complex bony surfaces. However, care must be taken to ensure contouring does not exceed 15 degrees in any one direction.
Cortical screws can be angled during placement to avoid interference with other screws and engage as many fragments as possible.
Commonly utilised for stabilisation of mandibular and pelvic fractures.
